Intern Spotlight: Meet Audrey!

Here at Burkhart Marketing Partners, we are excited to welcome our new Summer 2023 Social Media and Digital Marketing intern, Audrey Gordon. This past May, Audrey graduated from the University of Georgia with a major in Marketing and a minor in Design and Media. Keep reading below to learn more about Audrey and hear what she is excited for this summer at Burkhart Marketing Partners.

 

What drew you to advertising? 

I always enjoyed photography, video, editing, and other forms of content creation. I found I had a knack for social media and digital marketing. As I got into other internships and classes for marketing, I also found that it fed two sides of my personality: creativity and being number-oriented. I like working with analytics and numbers, but also being able to work creatively with media. Marketing and advertising allow me to do both in various forms.

 

What color crayon would you be?

If I were a crayon, I would be the burnt orange, almost red one. Not for any specific symbolic reason; I always loved using that crayon growing up. The color represents a lot of things that I enjoy, like hot sauce and warmth.

 

Would you rather win the lottery or get your dream job?

I would rather get my dream job because that would be like winning the lottery. I thoroughly enjoy being busy in a fulfilling way, and my dream job would provide that. While winning the lottery would be a nice cushion to fuel other endeavors, working a dream job would be more fulfilling.

 

What do you think about when you’re alone in your car? 

When alone in my car, I almost always think about what songs I am in the mood for. I love listening to all types of music and discovering new music or artists. I am constantly making playlists based on my mood, and I definitely spend my time in the car alone listening to those playlists.

 

What is your most-used emoji?

My most-used emoji is the emoji face with the mustache and glasses. I overuse this emoji because it works in different contexts and has many meanings. 🥸

 

What is a professional goal that you hope to accomplish in the next five years?

In the next five years, I hope to gain as much marketing knowledge and professional connections as possible so that I am set in a job that fulfills me. That job would allow me to be creative and has advancement opportunities to work towards. Additionally, ideally, this job would be in an industry where I have an interest and get to work with digital media.

 

How would your friends/family describe you?

My friends and family would describe me as very grounded, creative, honest, and introverted. I love social environments, but I am introverted at heart and need time to myself to recharge. My interests include reading, music, photography, and fashion. I love all creative outlets and trying new things whether it is spontaneous activities or new foods.

 

Is your glass half-full or half-empty?

My glass is half-full! It takes a lot of negativity to affect my mood or my outlook, which is usually very positive.

 

Do you have a favorite 90’s sitcom? If so, what is it?

I am not sure if these are 90’s sitcoms, but I really like Sex and the City and Seinfeld.

 

Is there anything you wish would come back into fashion?

I wish gauchos would come back in style (not sure if they ever were). Gauchos are capri-like yoga pants, and they are super comfortable. I wore them all the time when I was younger, and I would love it if they came back into fashion.

 

What are you most excited for during your time with Burkhart?

I am most excited to learn about how a marketing agency runs. I’ve always been really attracted to the agency side of marketing, but I only have previous experience with the brand side. I am ready to learn about the team, the clients, and how an agency runs on a day-to-day basis. I’m also excited to apply my skills here at Burkhart and expand on them on a higher level, such as learning to copywrite for various brands simultaneously. I want to build stronger networking skills and interpersonal relationships and understand the ins and outs of the platforms Burkhart uses.
